1 Chronicles 16:11: Seek the Lord and His strength, seek His face continually.
Seek: To attempt or desire to obtain or achieve (something); search for and find someone or something.
Our relationship with God isn't one way. Although God sought us out, it is our responsibility to be actively seeking Him.
As we see from the definition above it is an action. It is something that we have to put effort into doing daily. It may be something that you find difficult, sometimes you don't feel like reading the Word, or you're not sure what to pray, or you're too tired to get to church for the meetings, but what God graciously gives back to us is overwhelming.
In seeking God and putting Him above all else, He gives us strength. When we seek His face, it takes our eyes off of whatever is going on around us, and gives us focus on the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. He is the one who calms storms, raises the dead to life, conquers giants, feeds with nothing, leads people out of the wilderness, and so so much more.
The promise is that if we seek God, we will find Him. He won't hide Himself from you or make it feel impossible to be able to ever see Him. He is a good Father who doesn't withhold gifts from you, even if you don't seem to be doing enough, or aren't the "perfect Christian".
He isn't closed off or not really wanting to be found - He is waiting arms stretched wide for you to come to Him.
Seeking God is a choice, we were lost but found, blind but now can see, it's our choice whether we want to delve deeper into God.
What will you choose?
Down below is a song attached, it is a prayer about seeking after God above all else. Be blessed.
