I was reminded on Sunday evening something that God has placed on my heart during lockdown.
I was reading the story of Jacob, Leah & Rachel. The part where Leah was blessed with the gift of children and Rachel was not. There was a verse that I had read so many times but really stood out to me. I wanted to look into it a little more.
"Then God remembered Rachel; He listened to her and enabled her to conceive." Genesis 30:22
The word "remembered" fascinated me...with what I know about God, He doesn't forget about us so why was Rachel remembered? Is it possible that our loving Heavenly Father had no memory whatsoever of Rachel and her pain?
NO!
The Hebrew word for remembered in this particular verse is: Zakar. It means in simple terms: "to begin to act on one's behalf."
God had waited until the appointed time before He decided to act on Rachel's behalf. He "remembered" her.
Does it ever feel like you're forgotten? Like God has misplaced His plan for you? Like your ministry ended a long time ago and you don't know where you fit?
Let me encourage you, dear friends, you are not forgotten. You are not invisible. When the time is right, the Lord will work on your behalf. He will work all the times you've felt alone or abandoned, all the prayers you've prayed that seem to go unanswered, into something beautiful.
There is nothing that God doesn't see, He knows the end from the beginning.
All for the glory of God.
